Welcome to #TerpeneTuesday guys!
Today we’re going to talk about one of the most important of the more 150 minor terpenes that may appear in cannabis: Camphene
Seen commonly amongst indica strains, Campehene has an aroma reminiscent of fir needles and damp woodlands; in fact, many mistake this terpene with Myrcene (which we will cover next week!).
Camphene, much like major terpenes, possess significant medicinal qualities – especially for specific patient profiles. For example, when mixed with Vitamin C, Camphene can be utilized as a powerful antioxidant. Camphene has also been used as a topical to treat bacterial and fungal infections including eczema, psoriasis, and athlete’s foot.
Want to know the most impressive thing about this terpene? Camphene has the ability to decrease the incidence of cardiovascular disease by lowering the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
