CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of many cannabinoids within the cannabis plant that is starting to get a lot of attention at State levels and in the medical community. This particular cannabinoid has been highly studied and tested in countries such as Israel and England. Interestingly, the US Government holds a patent on the CBD compound as a valuable neuro-protectant. Unfortunately it also still has it categorized as a Schedule 1 drug, which by definition means it has no medical benefit.
While CBD has no psychoactive affects, it also counter balances the psychoactive effects of THC when taken in combination.
There are a multitude of additional beneficial effects CBD has as well, which include but are not limited to:
- Reducing nausea
- Seizure suppression
- Helps inflammatory disorders
- Helps with neurodegenerative disorders
- Helps fight cancerous cells
- Combats anxiety
Overall, there has been limited work done with CBD and it could provide very effective alternative medication for a variety of illnesses. To learn more about CBD, click here.
