Welcome to #TerpeneTuesday with Nature’s Care!
This week we’re exploring the benefits of Cedrene. Cedrene is a strongly fragrant element extracted from essential oils of Cedar.
Predominantly used in perfumery, this terpene is reported to have anticancer, antiseptic, antimicrobial and antifungal properties.
According to a study titled ‘The selective cytotoxic anti-cancer properties and proteomic analysis of Trigonella Foenum-Graecum’, the plant Fenugreek was found to contain several compounds including Cedrene with anticancer properties.
Cedrene found in the common juniper has been proven to possess mild aniseptic properties.
Cedrene present in ginger plays a critical role in inhibiting phytopathogenic fungi growth and is said to be one of the most effective antimicrobial agent in ginger extract.
