The purpose of Nature’s Care agreements with Cannabis Equity Illinois Coalition and ColaGroup is to advocate and support disproportionately impacted individuals, to reinvest in our communities and to enact positive change.  Not only do we believe in the beneficial properties of the plant, but we also believe the industry can provide the community and state with much economic gain. We pride ourselves in being a good neighbor and doing the right things in the communities where we operate. Together, we have created real solutions to help educate, advocate and give people pathways to expungement, financial literacy and careers in cannabis.

Member of the Chicago City Council. Walter Burnett Jr. has served as the alderman for Chicago’s 27th ward since his first election in 1995. The 27th ward includes the West Loop, Greektown, East Garfield Park, Near North Side, Old Town, West Humboldt Park, West Town, Goose Island and the Illinois Medical District. Walter Burnett Jr. has been instrumental in setting the stage for Cannabis Equity to be possible in the communities he serves.

Akele Parnell joined Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights in 2019 as a program counsel in the economic development and housing practice area, where he works with community-based businesses, non-profits, co-ops, and financial institutions on legal and non-legal strategies to build community-based economic power and promote equitable development policies in Chicago.
